Allan Jarvie

Allan Gordon Jarvie of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved father of Kristen (Richard) Vanderwal and Justin Jarvie, grandfather of Charlotte Vanderwal, brother of Karen (Al) Jarvie, and companion of Rhonda Sauerberg, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the age of 69 years.

Allan was born in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1954 to James Allan Jarvie and Anne L. Jarvie (Olshaski). Allan attended CCHS before studying for a business diploma at Lethbridge College. He then went on to work with his father at Ranchland for almost 25 years. After separating from his wife, and with the help of AA, Allan was able to gain his sobriety and rebuild his life. From there Allan discovered a new path, helping people as a pre-arrangement advisor. After five years in the pre-arrangement field, Allan then began a career at Martin Brothers.

Allan was a long standing member of the Board of Directors at Southern Alcare Manor, an organization focused on helping people achieve sobriety. He made it his mission to give back to the organization and community that helped him gain his sobriety, and turnover a new leaf in life. Allan also went on to volunteer and contribute to the development at the Chinook Society, a meeting place for any and all addictions groups.

Allan is predeceased by his sister, Beverly Anne, and brothers Melvin, Weldon James (Jim), and Andrew Jarvie.

The most important things to Allan were his children and his sobriety; he took pride in his 20 plus years of sobriety. He also loved music, muscle cars, cruising, and always enjoyed watching Street Machine Weekend.

Allan’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Coast Hotel in the Southern Room on Saturday, November 18, 2023.  The Celebration will take place between 1:00pm to 5:00pm with presentations, food and music beginning at 2:00pm.  Casual dress code.
