Born on May 5, 1944 to Leo Wolfe and Doris Morgan, Aldean was raised with her 7 siblings on a farm south of Foremost, Alberta. She married Vern in 1962 and together they raised their children in Foremost while volunteering tirelessly for the community. Aldean was the Southern Alberta Summer Games athlete co-ordinator for the County of Forty Mile for many years, coached slow-pitch and was a long-time member of the Foremost United Church. She worked for Canada Post for over 25 years, retiring in 2011. She moved to Parkbridge Estates in Lethbridge in 2012.
Mom’s passion was sports. She would try any of them but particularly loved playing slow-pitch with her women’s teams and was a keen track and field competitor, winning many medals in the Summer Games over the years. Mom also enjoyed many golfing trips with her girlfriends. That competitive spirit was passed down to her children and grandchildren and she spent many happy hours cheering them on in hockey, basketball, softball, and volleyball. Mom was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family or dear friends. She loved people and was well-loved in return.
Her battle with Lupus and Pulmonary Fibrosis was one she fought with courage and dignity. Please consider, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Mom’s name.
