Yau Chow

1926 ~ 2008

YAU HON CHOW of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Gum Jun, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the age of 81 years.

Yau was born in Canton, China on October 19, 1926 and immigrated to Canada in 1960. He resided in Vancouver and Victoria, BC for 15 years, before moving to Lethbridge in 1975.

Besides his loving wife Gum, Yau is survived by his sons Kui Chiu (Sin Mei) of Hong Kong, Mike (Sharon) of Lethbridge; daughter Diane (Bob) of Lethbridge; mother-in-law Bo Tai Dang of Victoria, BC; brother Louis Chow of Medicine Hat; brothers-in-law Ka Lun Kong of Lethbridge and Doug Dang of Victoria, BC; as well as 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Yau was predeceased by his first wife Shun Chung; parents Joe Sing Sun and Tong Chan Kau; daughter Ena; brother Don Hon Chow; 2 younger twin sisters; an older sister Wai Ching Kong; father-in-law Dang Sher Bark and sister-in-law Bernice Chow.

Yau will be remembered for his faithfulness to family and friends, his kindness and patience. Dad was especially happy when he was working in his garden which brought him many hours of enjoyment.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Bishop Standing and Mr. Norman Choi officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
