Yat Ming Wan

MR. YAT MING WAN of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Sim Yip Wan, passed away in Lethbridge, on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the age of 85 years.

Mr. Wan was born on December 25, 1924 in Taishan City, Guangdong Province, China, the fifth of seven children. After marrying and having six children they came to Lethbridge. Mr. Wan started to work at Leo Singer as a tailor and later became a chief at Henry's Restaurant. Mr. Wan was a loving, gentle, caring, and kind family man. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, crafts, and home renovations. His favorite pass time was watching the Calgary Flames. Mr. Wan battled with Cancer for over 2 years. The family would like to thank Lethbridge Family Services Home Services for providing great care and support especially Janet, RN the Community Care Case Manager during this time.

Besides his loving wife Sim Yip Wan, Mr. Wan will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his daughter Mileza (Peter) and their children Emily and Ellis; daughter Teresa and her children Jonathan (Raj), Synthia (Ian) and their son Leo, and Stephen; son Stewart (Jesse) and their daughter Kristin; daughter Maria (Alexander) and their children Stephanie, Ashley, and Corey; Allan (Lian) and their son Aden; and Jay.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00pm and 9:00pm on Friday, May 21, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Wai Y. Chan officiating.
