MRS. JOHANNA WILSON, beloved wife of the late Mr. Douglas Wilson, passed away at St. Michael's Health Centre on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the age of 80 years.

Johanna was born on September 16, 1928 in Monarch, Alberta to Ben and Mabel Veldhuis. Johanna graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Galt School of Nursing in Lethbridge in 1949 and received the Van Haarlem Obstetrical Scholarship. She worked at the Galt Hospital which later became the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital from 1949 until retiring in 1974. She married her husband Douglas James Wilson on May 9, 1951.

Johanna is survived by her two sisters Dorothy May and Bernice (Bill) Hofman; one sister-in-law Joan Veldhuis; sister-in-laws Betty (Gerrit) Leivers, Janette Wilson and Sheila Talbot; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Johanna was predeceased by her husband Douglas on August 5, 2002; mother Mabel in 1966; father Ben in 1990; brother Allen Veldhuis in 2009; nephew David Hofman in 1969 and a brother-in-law Ken May in 2000.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the MONARCH REFORMED CHURCH, (the church in the country; off Highway 23), with Reverend Robert Derrick officiating.
