WILLIAM MacCALLUM ""MAC"" GILLIS passed away in Lethbridge on September 16, 2007 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife Edith, 2 sons, Allan in Durham Bridge, NB and Robbie (Doris) in Red Deer, AB, 3 grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley in Coaldale and Conrad in Red Deer.

Mac was born in Matapedia, Quebec and moved with his parents to Lethbridge in the late 40's. He worked for PFRA before joining the Canadian Army where he served for 10 years and served in the Korea War and also in Viet Nam and many places in Canada. After leaving the army he worked on hydro electric projects in Outlook, SK, Hudson's Hope, BC, Mica Creek, BC and on LG2 in Northern Quebec and finally with SMRID in Lethbridge. Mac was Scout leader in Mica Creek, BC and in Lethbridge with the 16th Lethbridge troop. He attended jamborees in Alberta, New Brunswick, and the Canadian and World Jamborees in Kananaskis.

Mac was also very active in the Masonic Lodge being Past Master of Lethbridge Lodge #39, AF&AM, Past First Principal of Shekinah Chapter #4 Royal Arch Masons, Past Presiding Preceptor of Acre Preceptory #66 Sovereign Grand Priory of Canada, Past President of the Lethbridge Shrine Club, and Past Patron of Laurel Chapter #43 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of General Stewart Branch #4, Roayal Canadian Legion and Past President of Chinook Unit #53 Korea Veterans Association of Canada.

Cremation. A Memorial Reception will be announced in the following weeks. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
