William ""Bill"" Cameron of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Betty Cameron passed away peacefully on May 2, 2011 at the age of 89 years.
William Roderick Cameron was born on March 17, 1922 on the farm east of Granum to Donald and Margaret (Davison) Cameron. He was the third of four children. He is survived by his two daughters Dianne (Stan) Perrin of Fort Macleod and Donna Hunter (Keith, deceased) of Calgary. Also left to mourn his passing are four grandchildren: Gordon Perrin, Lyle Perrin (Andrea), Kelly-Jo Hunter (Len) and Trevor Hunter. He was a cherished great-grampa to ten great-grandchildren: Sam, Sydney, Shelby, Holly, Jessie, Haley & Jennifer, Charizma, Kienan & Nick.
He is also survived by his sister Margaret Brandon, cousins Ruth Burbank and Ethel Rochester and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Edith and brother Donald Ralph.
After an honorable discharge from the Army (Signal Corps) he farmed at Granum for eleven years. He then became a grain buyer for United Grain Growers. After leaving the grain business he became post master at Granum, Turner Valley, Bow Island and Raymond from which he retired in 1987. In 1989 they moved to Lethbridge where they enjoyed their retirement years. Bill was a Legion member (Branch #4) for 64 years.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 6, 2011 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 15th Avenue South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating.
Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
