Willem Vanden Broek

MR. WILLEM VANDEN BROEK of Picture Butte, beloved husband of the late Alberta Vanden Broek, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the age of 96 years.

Willem was born in the Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada in 1950. He is survived by his sons; Evert (Janny) Vanden Broek, Steven (Carol) Vanden Broek, John (Gerda) Vanden Broek, Herman (Terri) Vanden Broek, his daughters; Jean (Sam) Van Wieringen, Gerda (Bill) Van Esveld, Betty (Harry) Kuntz, Anne (John) Dousett, Rose (Roy) Johnson, and Chris (Neil) Heerschap, 32 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother; Elis (Janny) Vanden Broek, and two sisters; Corrie van de Hazel and Neeltje van Blankers in the Netherlands.

Willem was predeceased by his wife Alberta Hendrika Vanden Broek, his parents Gerrigje and Evert Vanden Broek, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Condolences will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Monday, October 5, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the NETHERLANDS REFORMED CHURCH OF LETHBRIDGE, RR8-28-11 Lethbridge, with Reverend C. Sonnevelt, officiating.

Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
