MR. JOHN WICKEY of Lethbridge passed away at the Cardston Hospital on Monday, September 27, 2010 at the age of 79 years.

John was born May 23, 1931 at Teulon, Manitoba and received his education in Winnipeg, attending Kelvin High School and St. Paul's College. Following college he enlisted in the Canadian Army Regular Force, serving with the Armored Corps and then the Artillery. After serving approximately 12 years with the military he took his release as Captain to take employment with Texaco Canada Ltd. in the marketing field. After approximately 14 years with Texaco, John went into business for himself involving real estate development and other business ventures until he retired at 55.

He was a member of the Kinsmen, the Associated Canadian Travelers, Elks, Army & Navy Club, Chinook Club, Lethbridge United Services Institute, Legion and a member ""OOZELEFINCH"" of the US Air Defense Centre in Fort Bliss Texas.

John, who had a very full, active and varied life, enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping and especially enjoyed traveling with or without his motorhome. He enjoyed all of the years he spent at the family cottage at Lees Lake, Whitefish, and his ranch in the Gladstone Valley, where he was close to mother nature.

John was a ""Cavalier"" at heart and lived life to the fullest. He touched the lives of all those he met and will be sadly missed by all his friends and family.

John was predeceased by his wife Sheila, and his parents John and Anne. He is survived by his daughter Cari-Ann (Gerry), his son John (Tammie), grandchildren Hayley, Cole, more recently his special friend Rosalie, and his beloved dog Bailey.
