Dorothy Aryln Wareberg

Official Obituary of

1/8/1914 - to - 25/2/2008

DOROTHY ARLYN WAREBERG passed away just as she had lived, quietly and peacefully in her own home, in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 25 at 93 years of age.

She is survived by her nieces, Judy (Garvin) Gaehring, Dorthy (Rod) Stickney, Kalispell, Patricia (Bud) Swimley, Libbey, Mary Jane Clark, Spokane, and Linda Hutton, Decatur, Illinois; her nephews John Gilder (Donna Lee deceased), Billings, Richard(Pat) Gilder, Kalispell, and Harry (Nancy) Gilder, Glendive. George and Brenda Henline and family were special friends and will miss Dorothy. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and their families. Dorothy also had a special place in her heart for her great, great nephews and nieces. Tess and Calder Morris and Brahmer, Abbie Blue and Hadlee Gaehring were her welcome visitors.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Orvel, her parents Philip and Esther Becker, her brother Miles and sister Evangline Waddell as well as many friends.

Dorothy was born, the second child of Philip and Esther Becker of Aden, Ab. As medical care was not easily available in the area, her mother travelled back to Minnesota for the expected birth. As a child of homesteaders, Dorothy faced many hardships as a young person, working on the farm after losing her mother at age 16. She never complained about those times. For a few years in the early 1940s', she lived and worked in Coutts. She and Orvel were married in 1945 and both took great pride in their farming and Angus cattle operation. Dorothy was a nature lover who walked among many miles in the coulees on the farm. In 1991, the couple moved to their home in Milk River. Orvel passed away on Dec. 6, 1997.

Alone in her home in Milk River, she grew her garden, looked after her pet cats, and other hungry town felines. She loved visiting with her neighbours and friends, and nurtured her deep faith at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church every Sunday. Her church ""family"" was very important to her.

Dorothy was a kind, gentle soft spoken lady who appreciated everything anyone did for her. She never thought badly of anyone, even making excuses for those who offended her.

Her family wishes to thank Dorothy's loving friends and caring neighbours for all their kindness, especially in the last years. She never forgot your words and deeds.

Aunt Dorothy, we will all miss you!

A Funeral Service will be held at 1PM, on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at ST. MATTHEW'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, Milk River, AB, with Pastor Brian Amison, officiating.

Interment to take place in Sunnyside Cemetery, Aden, AB.
