Edith Helen Voth

1927 ~ 2017

EDITH HELEN VOTH (nee Hanke) of Lethbridge passed away at Good Samaritan West Highland on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the age of 89 years.

Edith is survived by her daughter Norma Way of Lethbridge and her son Jeremy (Sonja) Martens of Edmonton and their children Violet and Jake; daughter Michelle (Gregory) Viviers of Calgary and their children Joshua and Caiden, daughter Danielle Martens of Calgary, and daughter Janelle (Jon Peters) Martens of Kelowna; daughter Linda (Ron) Rakos of High River and their sons Jamie and Kristopher of High River; daughter Leona (Doug) Kempt of Lethbridge and their son Jason (Rebecca) of Ottawa and daughter Kristy (Greg) Walker of Lethbridge; and daughter Donna (Don Boone) Voth of Calgary and Donna’s son Mitchell Stellar of Calgary; sister Malvina (Orville) Trumpour of Weyburn; brother Peter (Ida) Hanke of Vernon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith was predeceased by her husband Edmund Voth, parents Marie and Peter Hanke, step-mother Minnie Hanke, sisters Lena Richardson, Irma Nagy, and Margaret Hanke, sister-in-law Bernice Hanke, brother-in-law Len Richardson, son-in-law Orlando Martens, and grandson Tyson Stellar.

Edith loved her family and friends and will be remembered for her compassion and caring for all people, and her wonderful, and sometimes unusual, sense of humour.

A special thank you goes out to all the staff at West Highland, especially the personal care assistants and nursing staff on the second floor.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2017 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 – 15 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB with Reverend Trevor Potter officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
