Violet "Vi" Torfason

Our dearly loved Mother, Grandmother passed peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2016 with her son’s by her side.

She is survived by her children, Ian, Kim (Catherine); grandson Joel and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years Bill; parents Bert and Mary Lawrence; sister Helen; brother-in-law Ken, and brothers Ivan and Ken.

Violet grew up in Manitoba and moved to Lethbridge in 1949 when Bill accepted a position at the Lethbridge Research Station. Violet’s greatest love was her family. She was a very caring person who loved to help those in need. She was a strong supporter of the Salvation Army as every year she would make a hamper of knitted goodies to go to those less fortunate. Violet was a life time charter member of the Rebekah Lodge.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Terry Shillington officiating.
