1921 ~ 2007
VIETTA LEILA VASELENAK, beloved wife of the late William Vaselenak of Coaldale, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, July 30, 2007 at the age of 86 years.
Vietta is survived by 4 daughters Darla (Henry) Friesen, Darlene (Fred) Holzwarth, Willa (Kent) Hage and Raylene (Andy) van Rijn; daughter-in-law Sylvia Schan; 15 grandchildren Darren, Donald, Darcy, Jim, Duane, Randy, Korry, Danette, Mark, Scott, Tracey, Leeon, Kelly, Landon and McKinley; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as 2 sisters Winona Wyllie and Doreen Wilson.
She was predeceased by her husband William Vaselenak, son Duane Schan, granddaughter Riana Rae Holzwarth, 3 brothers Vernon, Laverle and Lonah Keller and her first husband Leo Schan.
Vietta was born in Edmonton on May 11, 1921 to Anton and Eva Keller. She was raised and educated at Albion Ridge and Newlands. Vietta and William raised 5 children on their farm in the Broxburn area, later moving into the town of Coaldale. During this time she was an avid ""Avon Lady"" for 50 years. For the past 2 years, Vietta has resided in the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, August 3, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Elizabeth Brown, officiating.
