Veronica Uhryn (nee Romanchuk) 1928 ~ 2014 Veronica Uhryn passed away peacefully on September 2, 2014 at Edith Cavell Care Centre at the age of 85 years after a two-year battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Alex of 56 years; daughters Beverly (Werner) Duda, and Brenda (Darren) Wilson; grandchildren Elyse (Ryan) Collier, Bradley Duda (Gabrielle Duncan), Jeffrey Wilson (Jennifer Watson), and Kayla Wilson (Casey Frattin); sisters Lilly (Steve) Shimek, and Eva Porter; brother Bill Romanchuk; sisters-in-law Lillian Romanchuk, Esther Romanchuk, Olga Michalenko, Ann Tratch, Mary Uhryn, and Jenny Uhryn; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; and Mildred Pachniosky. Veronica was predeceased by her parents John and Daisy Romanchuk; brothers Fred (Myrtle), Nick (Renee), Alex, Mike (Gladys), Andy (Marion), and John; sister Annie (Bill) Elaschuk; sister-in-law Bernice Romanchuk; as well as brothers-in-law Les Porter, John (Martha) Uhryn, Bill Michalenko, Walter Tratch, Mike (Muriel) Uhryn, Bill Uhryn, and Morris Uhryn. As requested by Veronica, there will be no funeral service. A family viewing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St. South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Burial to take place immediately after at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, Lethbridge, Alberta. No flowers by request. Donations in memory of Veronica may be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Jack Ady Cancer Center, 1A 129 - 960 19 St. S., Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 1W5.
