MR. WILLIAM ""BILL"" EDGAR TURNER, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Edna Turner, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the age of 79 years.
Bill was born on October 2, 1927 to Blanche and William in Michel, BC. He grew up in the Crowsnest Pass and was employed at the Sentinel Power Station at Crowsnest Lake, before moving to Lethbridge. He worked at the Lethbridge Sicks' Brewery for 37 years as a steam engineer.
He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed tying his own flies. Bill also enjoyed gold-panning excursions. He took his ushering duties at the First Baptist Church very seriously and was dedicated to ensuring that all congregation members were comfortable and well cared for.
Besides his loving wife Edna of 47 years, Bill is survived by his daughters Heather and Susan; son David (April); granddaughter Amber and step-grandchildren Carman and Cyle. He was predeceased by his son Michael, brother Gordon and sister Kathleen.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, with Pastor Ron Harris and Dr. Bruce Martin, officiating.
Those who wish memorial donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 9Z9.
