John William Tunnah

1945 ~ 2016

John Tunnah of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Carol Tunnah, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 21, at the age of 71 years. John will be fondly remembered by his three sons, Jason, Quentin and Edward, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Shyanne, Haley, Tighe and Aiden He was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Margaret and John Tunnah along with his older sister Isabella and half-sister Barb.

John was born in Lethbridge and was a proud “Northsider”. He worked for the Lethbridge Brewery from the age of 22 till 44 when it closed. He made many friends there and loved his job.

He was a long time member of Alcoholics Anonymous and died with 39 years of sobriety. John made many close lifetime friends and helped many people during his years in AA and dearly loved being a member of this organization.

He was also an avid outdoorsman, and got involved as a scout leader in the Lethbridge 15th St. Basils chapter. He and his sons loved scouting and John made many more fast friends during his many years of service.

He enjoyed many years of “hot rodding” and as he approached his retirement, Carol and John joined the Southern Alberta Antique Classic car club and they travelled together to many shows in and out of the province in their 37 Dodge. They both loved this and made many lasting friendships in this organization as well.

John will be dearly missed by his many friends and his beloved family.

Services will be held at Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel on Tuesday, February 23rd at 2:00pm.
