Troy Desrosiers
Service Details
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of TROY PATRICK WALTER DESROSIERS after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 40 years.
Troy is survived by his common-law wife, Trish Campbell, of Lethbridge; by his mother, Judy Desrosiers, of Lethbridge; his grandmother Nora Dewhirst, also of Lethbridge; and by various uncles, aunts and cousins both in Lethbridge and elsewhere. Troy is predeceased by his father, Alfred ""Des"" Desrosiers, of Lethbridge, and by several other close relatives.
Troy was born on March 9, 1968 in Edmonton, Alberta, and because of his father's Air Force career, lived in various places across Canada before the family settled in Lethbridge in 1977. He graduated from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute as an honour roll student in June 1986, and was awarded a diploma in Television Production from Lethbridge College in 2000. Troy was employed at a major record store for a number of years, and he also did video camera work for Channel 12 (now Shaw TV), Horse Racing Alberta and (as a volunteer) for the Lethbridge Hurricanes hockey club.
Troy enjoyed a number of leisure activities, such as collecting comic books, role-playing games, sports, reading, drawing and music, and greatly enjoyed the company of his friends in the course of pursuing these interests. He was a good friend to many, and will long be remembered for his compassion toward others and willingness to accept people for who they are.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 8:00pm on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South Lethbridge, AB T1J 9Z9 or the Lethbridge Food Bank Society, 1016 - 2 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0C9 would be greatly appreciated.
