MR. THOMAS HENRY PARKER of Lethbridge passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the age of 93 years.

Thomas was born at Enchant, on his father's homestead, on January 9, 1917. He went to school at Enchant, Granit Falls, and Picture Butte. After completing grade 9, he stayed at home to help on the family farm at Picture Butte. In 1938 Thomas got a chance to rent a quarter section of land several miles from the home farm, which he later purchased. Tom farmed both farms until the Second World War was over, when his brother David took over the home farm.

Thomas was active in the late forties and early fifties in the bringing of electricity to the farms in the Park Lake, Monarch and the south Nobleford areas, and was active in other community organizations.

In 1982, he leased his farm and retired to Lethbridge. During the early part of retirement, Thomas took a one month tour of Europe, a short tour of Eastern Canada, and the United States. In later years of retirement he spent many afternoons at the Prairie Tractor and Engine Society, helping with the restoration of farm tractors, machinery and buildings. Thomas was a 65 year member of Masonic Order. He was a member of St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Lethbridge. He married Marjorie Brown in 1946 and she passed away in 1981. In 1982 Thomas married Betty Hughes and the couple separated in 2007.

Thomas was survived by his sister Kathleen Tichler; 3 nieces Patricia Aitchison, Lois Binder, and Peggy Hartnett; 4 nephews Peter Tichler, Bernard Tichler, Dale Binder and Bob Brown; as well as his sister in law Margaret Brown.

Besides Marjorie Thomas was predeceased by his parents, his brother David, brothers in law Edward Tichler, Roy Brown, and Art (Helen) Binder.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday January 13, 2010 at 1:30PM at ST. AUGUSTINE'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 - 11 Street South, Lethbridge with Canon James Robinson officiating.

A private family interment will be held in Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Thomas's memory to a charity of one's choice.
