Thomas Baldrey

THOMAS EDWARD BALDREY, beloved husband of the late Arlene Baldrey, passed peacefully away at home on Saturday September 29th, 2007 at the age of 71 years. After a lengthy battle with heart failure Tom has gone to join his beloved wife, Arlene.

Tom was born December 21st, 1935 in Lethbridge, Alberta, where he resided his entire life. He grew up in the Old #3 District of Lethbridge until he joined the fair as a snake handler at the age of 15. He was always an entrepreneur from early childhood selling newspapers to becoming a successful businessman with Tom's Roofing and later Metal Mart Ltd. He was also instrumental in helping to establish Nail and Hammer. Tom shared his passion for horse racing with his family and many friends at Bullys. Tom and Arlene Jackson were married at Southminister United Church June 16th, 1956. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Tom is survived by his sons Barry (Ivy) of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Randy of Medicine Hat, Brent (Bernie) of Lethbridge and daughter Teresa (Alan) Stalker of Lethbridge. His 10 grandchildren Pam, Beverley, Bradley and Rhonda; Melissa; Tyson and Kelsie; Alanna, Tracy (Matt), Trevor (Krystal). 8 great grandchildren Cody, Madison, Zachari, Jaden, Alexa, Taylor, Xzilla, Nathan. His sister Joan (Dave) Carmichael and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his wife Arlene, parents Mary and John , his brothers Slim, Doc and Leonard and his sister Laura Henderickson.

By Tom's request a private family internment will be held. A gathering to celebrate Tom's life will take place at the south end of Bullys on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
