MRS. TAI YEE LEE of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Barkdat Lee, passed away at St. Michael's Health Centre on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the age of 102 years.
Born January 4, 1909 in Sun Wai, Kwang Tung Province, China, Mrs. Lee came to Lethbridge in 1950 with her family. Together, Mrs. Lee, and her husband the late Barkdat Lee, operated the Lee Cafe until their retirement at which time their son Wally continued to run the cafe. Besides being a fabulous cook and baker, she loved to garden. She was gracious, kind and thoughtful to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by her three sons, Wally (Kay), Conn, both of Lethbridge and Ed (Joan) of Calgary, AB; a brother Chung Man Jsang and family of Vancouver, BC; grandchildren Linda Lee, Sandra Lee and Dora Lee; Jason Lee (Frank), Tai Lee (Gregg) and James (Anna) Greenwood-Lee; great-grandchildren Ava and Fin Greenwood-Lee. She was predeceased by her husband in 1988. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Michael's for the wonderful care shown Mrs. Lee these past ten years. Also, many thanks to Dr. K. Frick and Dr. C. Au.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00 and 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2011 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with The Rev. Anna Greenwood-Lee officiating.
Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
