Stewart Lewis

MR. STEWART LEWIS of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Jessie Lewis, passed away at Park Meadows Good Samaritans on Sunday, May 9, 2010.

Stewart was born on January 27, 1921 in Edmonton, AB to Charles and Bertha Lewis. He was raised and educated in Bon Accord, Alberta. After serving in World War II he walked into a Candy Store and met the love of his life Jessie. They married a couple years later and together they raised three children. Stewart had a great passion for bowling and would bowl 7 days a week if he could. He was part of many leagues and enjoyed teaching even the youngest how to bowl. He continued to bowl well into his 80s.

Stewart is survived by his son John, daughters Olive (Dick) Metz and Patricia Postman, sisters Shirley (Frank) Chubb and Mary Lewis, brothers Robert, Thomas (Roseanne) and Vernon as well as 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jessie, his parents Charles and Bertha, his sister Olive Lewis, his daughter-in-law Evelyn, his sister-in-law Irene, a grandson Scott, and a great-grandson Harley.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Frank Chubb officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
