Stephen Daku

MR. STEPHEN DAKU of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Shirley Daku, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the age of 88 years.

Steve was born December 6, 1921 in Kipling, Saskatchewan.

He worked as a car salesman until his retirement in 2000. He was employed for many years at Dunlop Ford and College Mercury. He received numerous awards for outstanding salesmanship. He enjoyed snowmobiling and golf. He loved swimming with his son Bob and grandson Zachary and just spending time with his family and friends.

Besides his loving wife Shirley, Steve is survived by his four daughters; Linda (Jim) McCann, Judee (Brian) Baines, Diane (Mitch) Bodnaruk all of Lethbridge and Kim Lettenga of Montana, two sons; Bob (Gloria) Daku of Lethbridge and Brent (Irene) Smith of Calgary, along with grandchildren; Tracy (Chris), Christopher (April), Tyler (Amber), Ryan, Cole, Kalie (Alan), Zachary, Zoe, Bob (Bré), Candace (Alex), Justin, Christine and Jessica, and great grandchildren; Dakota, Eve, Connor, Nathan, Beila Jean, Katlyn and Tyler. He also leaves one sister Irene Baskey of Kipling, two brothers; Gordon Daku of Kelowna and Joe Daku of Kipling.

He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Lydia Daku, three brothers and two sisters, a daughter Glenda and a granddaughter Sandra McCann.

A private family service will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
