Gordon was born in Virden, Manitoba on December 21, 1911. The first 47 years of his life were spent in Virden where he grew up, married Gloria Down, raised their family until 1959, when they moved to Estevan, SK. He was employed most of his life with BA Oil, later known as Gulf Oil and retired in 1971. They moved to Kelowna in 1971 and for the next five years he worked for Commonwealth Mobile Homes, finally retiring completely he spent the rest of his life in Kelowna, Estevan, back to Kelowna and finally to Warner and Lethbridge to be close to family.

Gordon had 100 plus years of a very full life. He held a life membership of the Order of Elks of Canada and was a member of the Canadian Order of Forresters. He enjoyed gardening, puttering about his workshop fixing things and never seemed to be bored with life. He enjoyed oil painting, golfing and fishing. He was not real fond of playing cards but never refused to be a good sport and usually ended up winning. Gordon was always willing to lend a hand and it was a pleasure to spend time with him in work or play.

From an early age he and his brothers developed a musical talent. Gordon had a wonderful sense of timing and playing the banjo, saxophone and piano, loving every minute. Throughout his life he played music with many different orchestras and other music lovers. Many wonderful lifelong friendships were made.

Always a gentle man, he left this world the same way he lived his life - with grace.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

A special thanks to the staff at the Fairmont Extendicare and the Chinook Regional for their compassionate and vary capable care of our loved one.
