MRS. ANNA SPROULE of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Brian Sproule, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Wednesday December 2, 2009 at the age of 80 years.

Anna was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on December 18, 1928, to John and Julia Valgardson. Anna had great memories of her childhood years that she shared with her 11 brothers and sisters in northern Saskatchewan. As a young adult Anna and her family moved to Taber, Alberta where she met and married John Brian Sproule on November 8, 1951. They settled on the Sproule family farm where they raised their six children until they retired to Medicine Hat, Alberta.

After Brian's passing, Anna moved to Lethbridge to be closer to her sisters and family.

Anna loved to host large family dinners - everyone was welcome - with lots of laughter and games to follow. Her generosity and kindness will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Anna lost her battle with cancer after a short stay in the Palliative Care Centre at St. Michael's. We the family, wish to express our gratitude for the exceptional love and care that our mother received from all the staff.

Anna is survived by her sons Gregory (April) Sproule and Kevin Sproule, and her daughters Susane Sproule, Sheila Sproule, Carol Sproule and Patricia (Tim) Redekop, along with her grandchildren; Sarah Redekop, Tyler Sproule, Devin Sproule and Paytyn. She is also survived by her sisters; Mary Williams, Margaret Williams, and Phyllis Fuller, and her brothers; Ernie (Maureen) Valgardson and Jerry (Sheila) Valgardson.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Brian, along with her sisters Louise Nesbitt and Vivian Clark, and her brothers; John Valgardson, Art Valgardson, Roy Valgardson, and Wilfred Valgardson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 7, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, with Deacon Cliff Bogdan, officiating.
