Sophie Mikhail 1928 ~ 2014 Sophie Mikhail beloved wife of Michel Mikhail passed away peacefully on February 4, 2014 at the age of 85. Sophie was born on May 25, 1928 in Cairo, Egypt. She grew up in Port Said where she attended school to become a seamstress. She married Michel in 1958 and lived in Port Said where both of their sons were born. Sophie, Michel and their sons immigrated to Canada in 1968. Sophie was quickly employed as a seamstress at Woolco, it was soon after she was hired at Black's Men's Wear and it was there she worked passionately until retirement. She enjoyed swimming and league bowling but her true joy came from feeding and spoiling her family. Besides her loving husband Michel she is survived by her sons Adly (Elizabeth) and grandson Nicholas and Ramy (Etha) and grandchildren Mandy (Shawn) and their children Aiden and Damien, Cory and his children Logan and Alexis and Jay. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13th Street North, Lethbridge with Deacon Frank Peta officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Samaritans Society - Park Meadows Village, 1511 15th Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB T1H 1W2 for their loving care of Sophie.
