Tony Camille Soenen

August 3, 1958 ~ August 14, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Tony passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family on Monday, August 14, 2017 at the age of 59 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Tony was born in Taber, AB on August 3, 1958, the 6th of 10 children. He met the love of his life Linda in his late teens in a classic love at first sight tale, while she was waitressing at the Red Lion Restaurant and Disco. They were inseparable ever since August 19, 1978 and were married in July 1980. Soon after they welcomed 2 sons, Joseph and Shaun, who were their fathers pride and joy. Tony and Linda bought an acreage in Lethbridge County where they raised their family, established Park Lake Paintball and shared 37 wonderful years together on ""the farm."" Tony spent 35 years working at Richardson Oilseed Ltd and had just retired in August 2015 to work full time with his wife at Park Lake Paintball.

For those that knew Tony, knew he was a good ol' Southern Alberta boy who loved to hunt, fish and shoot. He had an infectious smile and was full of one liners, he loved making people laugh and not too much could ever get him down.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate Linda (nee Wingerter), son Joseph (Deanndra), grandson Vadik, granddaughter Milajna, son Shaun (Simone) mother Donna Soenen, brothers Morris, Donald (Johanna), Ronald (Jocelyn), sisters Shirley Messmer, Audrey Ries, Barbara Soenen, Karen (Blain) DesRoches, JoAnne Soenen, Donna Soenen, brothers in law Les (Val) Wingerter, Gerald (Pauline) Wingerter, sister in law Doris (Mike) Foster, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by his father Joseph Soenen.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff on 3C and the Jack Ady Cancer Centre at Chinook Regional Hospital for showing Tony such kind and compassionate care in his last days.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at 6:00pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL.

A Celebration of Life for his family and friends will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Park Lake Paintball, at the North end of Park Lake Provincial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, 960 - 19 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1W5. Lethbridge is in dire need of a PET CT SCAN Machine.
