Shirley Anne Buckingham of Lethbridge, AB, beloved wife of Mr. Christopher Buckingham passed away peacefully at Good Samaritans Park Meadows on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the age of 78 years.
Shirley was born February 28, 1946, in Calgary, AB. Shirley moved in 1971 to Claresholm, AB where she worked at the Claresholm Care Centre. While living in Claresholm, she attended the Pentecostal church, became a member of the choir and met the love of her life, Christopher.
Shirley and Chris got married on March 4, 1972, and welcomed their daughters Lorna-Deane in 1974 and Wendy in 1976.
In 1989, the Buckingham family moved to Lethbridge, AB. Shirley enjoyed her time working at Lethbridge Custom Canvas and Carefree Express, until she was able to happily retire. Shirley enjoyed singing in choirs and with her friends, sewing, and knitting blankets for those close to her heart.
Besides her loving husband, Chris, Shirley is survived by her daughters Lorna-Deane (Kurtis) (Tyler, Kane & Dana) McLeod, Wendy Buckingham (Shayla Doyle, Faith & Abbigayle Nieuwenhuis), as well as numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, with refreshments to follow.
