Seron Schmidt

SERON SCHMIDT of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Dora, passed away peacefully, October 6, 2011, at the age of 87 years. Cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. In his final journey, Seron was surrounded by family members and the loving thoughts and prayers of those from afar.

Born in Denmark, August 30, 1924, Seron immigrated with his family in 1950, settling in the Lethbridge area. He worked in the agricultural, fuel and gas industries. Throughout their lives together, Seron and Dora enjoyed travelling, golfing, dancing and spending time with their families in Denmark and across Canada.

Dora, his wife of 66 years, will miss him greatly. Seron's loving spirit will be treasured by his surviving son, Erik (Diane) Schmidt, daughters Grace (John) Ennis, Joyce (Bernie) Syrenne, Sharon (Ross) Manning and grandchildren, Steven and Sheri Schmidt; Anne-Marie, Kristine and Claire Ennis; Renee, Paul, Laura and Peter Syrenne; Christian and Carly Manning; and six great-grandchildren. Seron was by pre-deceased by his son Roy.

A special heartfelt thank you is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff of Alberta Health Services and Home Care, Chinook Regional Hospital, and St. Michael's Health Centre for their compassionate care of Seron and family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in the Celebration of Seron's life at a Reception to be held in MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:30pm.
