MRS. DORINA ""DORIS"" LOUISE SERGO of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the age of 87 years.

Doris was born on August 21, 1923 at Bellevue, Alberta near the river, in an area known as ""Bushtown"" to Giovanni and Libera Scodellaro. Her siblings were Primo, Vera, Duke, Edo, Elsa, Emma, and Mario.

Loving wife of Roger, who predeceased her, and mother of Richard Whitcroft, Maxine Strain and Darlene Sergo. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children; sister Elsa Romano; brother Mario Scodellaro; grandchildren Lila (Ryan), Heather and precious great-granddaughter Laren.

Doris' greatest love was her family. She treasured her time with them and they with her. She walked through her life with regal dignity, grace, generosity, and kindness. Mom always appreciated little blessings and kept a very positive outlook. She had many dear friends with whom she enjoyed happy times. Mom loved Christmas, her roses, and her flower garden. She participated in a variety of activities throughout her lifetime from baseball to housekeeping, from scrapbooking to gardening, needlework, crafting, bowling, the CHR Bridges Program and most especially cooking delicious meals for her family. For Mom, her dinner table was love and laughter. Her most precious times were when her family was all together eating big meals and celebrating an important event. Our happy memories of those wonderful times will live on forever, as she is a gem within our hearts. Her life was truly an example of love, graciousness and strength. She will be dearly missed.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00PM on Sunday, September 19, 2010, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPELS, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Monday, September 20, 2010 at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 318 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, with Father Tim Boyle celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
