Mariel Selk

1928 ~ 2018

Mrs. Mariel Jean (Meldrum) Selk of Blackrock Terrace, Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the age of 89 years with her loving daughters at her side.

Mariel was born September 21, 1928 in Cardston, AB. She lived a long, hard-working life, always making sure every need of her family was met.

Mariel is survived by her 2 daughters Marianne Paskuski (Gary) and Sharon Ivanics (Steve); 6 sons Barry (Nancy), Dave, Danny, Roger, Tom and Alan (Penny); 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 step-sons Jerry (Carla), David (Karen), and Daryl; 1 step-daughter Sharon Fisette and their families.

Besides her loving husband, Norman Selk, Mariel was predeceased by her infant daughter Norma Jean; daughter Kathy Esslinger; parents Bart and Wanda Meldrum; brother and sister-in-law Ernst and Rhoda Meldrum; sister Joyce Thompson; partner Bert Stubbington; as well as parents and all in-laws of Norman’s.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. A private family interment will be held prior to the service in Stirling Cemetery.
