Mrs. Valerie Lynne Schuurman of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Bill Schuurman, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at the age of 61 years.

Lynne loved and was loved by her family and home. Her kids Devin, Brandon (Karri) and newly arrived grandson Alexander filled her with pride and joy.

Married 39 years to Bill, she looked forward to spending more time together in his retirement.

Humour was important to Lynne. Whether it was with people, television or something she read, her laugh would bring a smile to everyone’s face.

Always busy, she took care of family matters, quilted, sewed, read and spent hours writing a novel. Keeping holidays special, especially Christmas, was a priority.

Besides her loving husband Bill, Lynne is survived by her sons Devin and Brandon (Karri); grandchild Alexander; sisters Judy Smith, Sandy Fischer (Harry), and Pat Santa (Don); brothers Andy Kandel (Mary Francis), and Mike Kandel (Colleen); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Lynne was predeceased by her parents Violet and George Kandel; her infant daughter Apton Eileen; and brother-in-law Wayne Smith.

A Private Family Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016.
