Ruth T. Laurie 1936-2014 The family of Ruth Laurie (Konno) is saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the age of 78. Ruth is survived by her son Trent, daughter Janne (Brad) Parascak, grandchildren Tessa and Terik Parascak. She is also survived by her sisters Catherine Koyanagi, Pat (Art) Hironaka, Vi (Jack) Ikeda, Evie (Jack) Gibbons; Brothers John (Barb) Konno, Andy (Joan) Konno and numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces and their families. She married Gordon Laurie in 1958. They were married for 52 wonderful years prior to his passing in 2011. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Hideo and Michiko Konno, sister Grace and husband Bunk Odagaki, sister June and husband Bill Taniguchi, Brother-in-law Tad Koyanagi and Nephew Craig Odagaki. For many years Ruth managed Henderson Lake Golf Club and enjoyed spending time with all the members. Ruth was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 55 years. She cherished the relationships she made along the way and made everyone feel special. She loved to play golf and spend time in her garden. Ruth's greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, grandma, sister, auntie and friend. A Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Monday, May 26, 2014 at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329-15th Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Trevor Potter, Officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
