Mrs. Beatrice “Betty” Louise Rushford of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Clayton “Shorty” Rushford, passed away with her family by her side at the West Highlands Good Samaritans Centre on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the age of 93 years.

Betty was born on August 1, 1922 on the family homestead in Grassy Lake, Alberta to George and Rose Fettig. After leaving home she worked in a bank in Medicine Hat and that is where she met “Shorty”. They married in 1942 and had 2 sons Robert and Barry. She worked as a farm wife and later at various jobs in Chamberlain School in Grassy Lake until retirement. They moved to Lethbridge in 1995.

Betty enjoyed family most of all in addition to camping, cards and gardening.

Betty is survived by her sons Robert (Antoinette) and Barry (Rita) both of Lethbridge; grandchildren Lori (Kevin) Gross, Alison Grandmont, Craig (Connie Edlund), Jason, Cory (Ingrid Johnson); as well as 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Besides her loving husband Clayton “Shorty”, Betty was predeceased by her parents George and Rose Fettig.

At Betty’s request, a private family graveside will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
