1939 ~ 2015

With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Roy Leonard on February 12, 2015 at age of 75 years. Roy passed away at home, holding the hand of Marge, his loving wife of 52 years.

Roy was born in Calgary on December 20, 1939, received schooling in Lethbridge, and later graduated from Pillsbury Military Academy in Owatonna, Minnesota.

Roy loved life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, but even more so for his loyalty to his friends. He had great empathy for all.

We would like to thank Dr. Strank , Dr. Shields, Dr. Smuts and the Palliative Team, Home Care, Lethbridge Family Services, Dr. Brigden and the staff of the Cancer Clinic for the wonderful care Roy received.

Besides his loving wife, Marge, Roy is survived by his brother Bob (Kathy) Leonard of Lethbridge, sister Marilyn (Barry) Cole of Bend, Oregon, sisters-in-law Patricia (Slim) Wiebe of Calgary and Shirley (Irvin) Hinds of High River. Roy leaves nieces and nephews who were all a great source of happiness and pride to him, as well as many friends.

Roy was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Mary, and brother-in-law Dave Richardson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411-11 St. S., Lethbridge, AB.
