MR. RODDY BREEN of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the age of 59 years.
Roddy was born in Calgary on November 5, 1949 to parents Francis and Lillian Breen. After leaving school, Roddy achieved a Certificate of Auctioneering and he worked as a cattle auctioneer in Wadena, Saskatchewan for 2 years. Roddy returned to Alberta and settled in Lethbridge where he started a 38 year truck driving career hauling grain for Matteotti Farms. In 1974 he moved over to R.K. Transportation. For the next 35 years Roddy drove for R.K. Transportation, H & R Transportation and RSB Logistic. Roddy was awarded numerous safe driving awards, but he was most proud of his one million mile accident free coat from H & R Transportation. Roddy immensely enjoyed going to rodeos and watching hockey, football, and baseball.
In his career, Roddy made friends in cities across Canada, and the United States. Roddy was truly a professional truck driver and considered a gentleman by all who knew him. His friends will miss his honesty, his integrity and his friendship.
Roddy will be missed by his stepmother ""mom"" Vivian Barman; sisters Joyce (David), Linda (Carl); brother Danny (Darlene); as well as 3 nieces, and 1 nephew.
Roddy was predeceased by his parents Francis and Lillian Breen.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB with Reverend Elizabeth Brown officiating.
