ROBIN STUART HOOD of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, Alberta on Thursday, January 4, 2007.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Esther and his children Robin (Sharon) Hood, Peggy (Gerry) Kadey, Greg (Rosemarie Painter) Hood, Pat (Brian) White and Cameron (Rose Mueller) Hood and his grandchildren Shawna, Cameron, Scott, Brett (Meghann) and Kaley Hood, Tony, Nick and Ashley White and Kalen Hood and a special G-Pa to Braden. He is also survived by his twin brother David (Muriel) Hood and many nieces and nephews. Robin was predeceased by his parents Fred and Edith Hood, his sisters Mary Hood, and Muriel (Art) Heidecker and one brother Lesley Hood.

Robin was born in Coronation, Alberta on September 29, 1925. He served in WWII and was wounded April 7, 1945. It was during his recovery in the hospital in Calgary he met his wife Esther and they started their life together in 1946. He was employed with the Canada Post Office in Calgary until 1968. He then joined the Department of National Defence and moved his family to Ottawa and then to Winnipeg where they settled.

Robin was always an active volunteer in his Community and in the Royal Canadian Legion 100 in Charleswood. He was best known for his integrity and for his support of family and friends and he will be missed by all that knew him.

Those wishing to join family and friends for refreshments are invited to the Hussar Community Hall on Sunday January 7, 2007 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
