Richard "Rick" Telford
Service Details
Richard “Rick” Telford passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Chinook Regional Hospital but with a smile and a half full bottle of Budweiser in his hand.
Parents Frederica C. Telford (Moule) (1918-1983) nurse and Richard (Dick) N. Telford taxi owner/operator (1916-1953)
He leaves behind his son Joel Telford; grandson Jack Telford; Georgina Taylor, family members and several close friends and many acquaintances. Rick had a very special friend in Carol Trofanenko. She was by his side right to the end and held a very special place in his heart.
Rick completed an apprenticeship with BC Forest Products, Pitt Lake Division as a heavy-duty mechanic. He then had a long career with MacMillan Bloedel starting at Franklin River (Port Alberni) and finishing at Sproat Lake with three other divisions between them. Several years were spent as a shop foreman and equipment supervisor.
After logging he had a back road tour company until retirement and then settled in Coutts Alberta.
He enjoyed exploring the back country wherever he lived and liked motorcycles. For a few years it was trials riding and then a lot of highway riding, his last machine being equivalent to the SR-71 Blackbird and he named it his Toy.
Rick requested no formalities after his death but would like people to chat with their friends and family and enjoy that company.
