Richard Moch

RICHARD ""DICK"" VALTINE MOCH of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Phyllis Moch, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the age of 73 years.

Richard was born on April 29, 1938 in Maple Creek, SK, moving to Lethbridge when he was fifteen. He met Phyllis at the Lethbridge Civic Centre Skating Rink and they were married on December 14, 1956.

Richard had numerous occupations over the years, a couple being at Coca Cola for 15 years in sales and then building houses. He was a self taught carpenter, always saying ""that's a well built house"". Some of Richard's past times included racing stock cars that were held together with hay wire, fishing at Beaver Mines, camping with his family, and skiing at Castle Mountain, a sport he took up in his late 40's. Richard always had time to share a beer with his friends. For the most part he was a quiet man, never wanted to be in the lime light, always ready to help others at the drop of a hat.

Besides his beloved wife Phyllis, Richard is survived by his daughter Rhonda; son Rory; special pet Sky; siblings Jim (Irene) of Lethbridge, Bob (Phyllis) of Lethbridge, Garry (Gladys) of Calgary; Lynn (Dave) Steedsman of Medicine Hat; brother-in-law Dennis (Maggie) Littau; special friends George (Terry) Lyster and Carol and Len Welling; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Richard was predeceased by his son Timmy; parents Ruth and Henry; brothers Ray, Ken, Eiler, and Ralph Moch; parents-in-law Mary and Jake Block.

The family is so grateful for the care given to Richard by the staff at St. Therese. He resided there for the last three years and the staff became part of his family. Their love and compassion were so evident.

A private family service will be held.
