Richard Graham

MR. RICHARD GRAHAM of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Kathleen ""Kay"" Graham, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the age of 80 years.

Richard was born January 27, 1929 in Rainier, AB to parents Edna Elizabeth and James Harkness. He spent a happy family life in his early years on the farm in Rainier. This left him with strong beliefs in family values, that he tirelessly taught his children and grandchildren throughout his life. He attended Olds School of Agriculture, but spent his life in police services in Moose Jaw, SK from 1953 - 1960 and as a corrections officer in Lethbridge from 1965 - 1987. Dick farmed in Rainier from 1960 - 1965, and him and his wife Kay spent many years as foster parents in Lethbridge.

Richard is survived by his brother Lee Graham; sisters Edna Ferne, Virginia Pittman, and Margaret Nuedecker; children Dwayne (Carol) Graham, Peggy (Albert) Viel, Pat (Ed) Olsen, Barry (Marilyn) Graham, Rick Graham, Kathy Graham; brothers-in-law John (Vicki) Debolt, Slim Debolt, Gary Debolt; sisters-in-law Joan Graham, Edna Lynn (Doug) Nielsen, and Jacki (Percy) Balon; mother-in-law Eloise Ritchie; grandchildren Jeffrey, Michael, Stevie, Shawn, Michelle, Aline, Katie, Terri Ann, Kelly, D'Arcie, Troy, Reese, and Shandi; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

Besides his loving wife Kathleen Lenore ""Kay"" Graham, Richard was predeceased by his parents Edna Elizabeth and James Harkness and his brother James ""Jim"" Graham.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB, with Pastor Brian Magee officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
