Richard Downen

RICHARD ""DICK"" DOWNEN Passed away at the age of 59 as a result of a tragic accident. Born in Eugene, Oregon in 1951, Dick made several moves and ended up in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1997 - where he found home.

Dick was a man who loved is wife, his family, his friends, his dogs and the outdoors. He spent his life pursuing his passions and his dreams. He was a loving, gentle and kind husband, father, brother, son and friend. He is survived by his wife Robin (nee Reiter); parents Jack and Elaine; siblings Tamara (Paul) and Sandy (Tom); children Jena (Brian), Laura (Don) and Rob; and mother-in-law Carol Reiter.

Dick was larger than life both in stature and in spirit. He is loved and will be missed by many people across North America. He was a charismatic man who enjoyed laughter, good food, good company and life. He sought out life to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same. He will be missed by all who had the honour of knowing him and has left a large footprint on the lives of many.

A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the STIRLING LIONS COMMUNITY CENTRE. All who knew and loved Dick are welcome to attend.
