Elsie Renner 1923 ~ 2013 Elsie M Renner of Lethbridge, AB passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the age of 90. Elsie was born in Coalhurst, Alberta on September 2, 1923, the youngest of nine children born to Joseph and Josephine Renner. She was raised on the family farm near Nobleford, attended Keho School to grade 8, and grades 9 to 11 at the school in Nobleford. While still living and working on the farm, she commuted to Lethbridge from 1960-1961 to attend the Alberta Beauty School and became a hairdresser. From 1970 to 1991, she worked as a sales clerk at the Lethbridge Sears store. In 1997, when the farm was sold, she moved to Lethbridge to enjoy a well-earned, more relaxed lifestyle in the peaceful surroundings of the Henderson Lake area. In her lifetime, Elsie enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Las Vegas, and eastern Canada, as well as Kimberly, BC and day trips to the mountains. She loved her yard and garden, but her favorite pastime was spending time with neighbors, friends, and family. She was a member of St. Catherine's CWL in Picture Butte and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion in Lethbridge. Besides her parents, Elsie was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Renner and Rose Todd, six brothers, Frank, Rudolph, Herman, Ernest, Albert, and Carl Renner, sister in law Mary Renner, and brother in law George Todd. She will be greatly missed by three nephews, two nieces, their families, and other extended family. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, November 1, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made in Elsie's honor, through donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4K7.
