Shirley June Raiche of Cardston, beloved wife of Lewis Patrick Raiche, passed away suddenly and peacefully at the age of 91 years.

Shirley was born in Saskatooon, and at the age of 5 years moved with her parents and siblings to a farm close to Shell Lake, SK. As a child she enjoyed running, and of necessity, cross country skiing to attend grade school in town. As a young adult she enjoyed dancing and dating and spending time with her friends. Lack of funds curtailed further education so Shirley entered the work force, sending money home and providing for her own needs. She travelled and worked across Western Canada, ending up in the East, in London, Ontario at the suggestion of her father.

It was in London where she met and married Lewis Raiche, and they have been together for 64 years. In those 64 years they moved 25 times, ending up in Cardston, Alberta; after having passed through Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and more Exotic places such as Kuwait, and Singapore.

Shirley enjoyed gardening, baking, going for drives in the country, and giving/getting hugs. She collected quotes, poems & oddities of knowledge of which she made collages for all to enjoy. She also collected cookbooks, sea shells, pine cones, and seeds. She was a hard core Pepsi cola lover, topped up with some Canada Dry Ginger ale. We all love her dearly.

Besides her husband Lewis, Shirley is survived by her 2 Daughters, Colleen (Byron Hatch), Kathleen (Brian Baker); 4 Sons, Peter Gant, Lewis (Laurie Raiche), George Raiche, John (Brenda Raiche); 23 Grandchildren; 35 Great grandchildren; 4 Great great grandchildren, and  1 Sister, Hazel Ashwin.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Martha Wilson; her brothers Donald, David, and Dale, her daughter Corinne, and great grandchildren Lazarus, and Daron.

Due to the present health concerns we ask our friends who wish to share their condolences, to attend a walk-through memorial at the Raiche home on Saturday, August 1, from 3:00 pm  to  6:00 pm   at #106 – 3rd Ave. West Cardston, AB.
