MR. ILIJA POLOVINA of Lethbridge, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the age of 88 years.

Ilija Polovina was born February 9, 1920 in Serbia. He passed away December 30, 2008 in Lethbridge at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre.
He immigrated to Canada in 1948 where he later became a citizen. One of his first jobs here was at a logging camp for a short time. Most of his life he was employed by the Alberta Provincial Government in Southern Alberta as a painter. His retirement years were spent in Lethbridge and the past couple of years he lived at the Garden View Lodge.

Ilija will be sadly missed by his friends. He had no relatives in Canada but is survived by family members in Serbia.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am, on Monday, January 12, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB, with Father Obrad Filipovic officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
