MRS. PHYLLIS THERESE HOLTORF of Fort Macleod, beloved wife of the late Mr. Joseph Holtorf, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the age of 95 years.
Phyllis was born on February 18, 1915 in Chinook, Alberta. She was raised and educated in Fort Macleod, and went to Sacred Heart Convent School to complete her high school. She enlisted in the RCAF - WD in 1942 and was discharged in 1945. Phyllis was employed at the Baker Memorial Sanatorium in Calgary and then St. Michael's Hospital in Lethbridge. She married Joseph Holtorf on October 7, 1950. They moved from Calgary to Edmonton, then to Lethbridge and ultimately to Fort Macleod Extendicare where she resided until her passing.
Besides her loving husband Joseph, Phyllis was predeceased by her parents Theophile and Hortense DeMaere, her two sisters; Mary and Florence, and her seven brothers; Frederick, Frank, Leonard, John, Sidney, Theodore and August.
Phyllis is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their families, along with two special nieces; Pat Wocknicz of Calgary and Marilyn Teets of Calgary.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 26, 2010 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave South, Lethbridge. Cremation to follow.
