Mr. Steve Petrovich of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Jane Petrovich, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at the age of 80 years.

Steve was born in Bregovina, Serbia, and would follow his father to Canada 11 years later with his mother and sister February 5, 1955 at the age of 14.  He joined the Canadian Army when he was 18 so he could travel and see Europe.

Steve was a Journeyman Baker and worked at Woolworth’s where he met Jane, who also worked there. They were married on August 13, 1966.  He later joined the Lethbridge Brewery where he worked seasonally, when he was laid off, he would go to work at the local bakeries or to Calgary where he lived with his sister and her family. He would eventually get full time employment at the Brewery until they closed their doors.

In his retirement, Steve enjoyed camping and fishing in the Crowsnest Pass. With his outgoing personality he easily made friends, often for life.  He also enjoyed spending time with his loving family, which included children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all who benefited from his love of woodworking. He also traveled across Canada and down South.

Besides his loving wife Jane, Steve is survived by his children Joanne, Brian, and Valerie (Ryan); granddaughter Natasha (Jonathon) and their children Vayda, Aleaha, Curtis, and Maverick, and other granddaughter Kaitlyn (Dilon); his sister Marion and her 2 children Bogdan (Katarina) Dubroja and their 3 children, and Monica Dubroja.

A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday September 10, 2021 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 STREET SOUTH  Lethbridge, Alberta. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610- 4 STREET SOUTH with RT. REV. FR. Taras Krochak, officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
