MRS. LITVENA ""TINA"" PETER passed away at the Coaldale Health Centre on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the age of 92 years.

She was born in 1917, the eldest of 9 children born to Michael and Barbara Messmer, in Southwestern Saskatchewan. Her remaining siblings include; Susan Spitzer, Barbara Fischer, Alphonse Messmer and Joesph Messmer.

Litvena married John Peter in 1935 and they had 59 years together until he passed away. Mom mothered 5 children; Michael (Joan) Peters, Daniel (Pat) Peters, Bernard (Sybil) Peters, Elaine (Norris) Burnstad and Nadean (Wes) Wiebe. Her son Michael and son-in-law Wes predeceased Mom in 1998 and 2004.

Mom married Steve Gatz in 1995 and was widowed again in 1996.

Mom lived in Lethbridge from 1948 to 2006 and was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mom was a resident of the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale for the past 4 years, and spent a short time at the Coaldale Health Centre before her passing on March 17th.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13th Street North, Lethbridge, with Father Raul Hernandez, celebrant.

Interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta.
