PAULINE (BURDEYNEY MACDONALD) MCCABE of Gardenview Lodge, Lethbridge, born March 26, 1932, died October 20, 2007. Survived by daughter Mary Jane MacDonald and partner Rod Rutledge, and her two sons Travis Murree of Lethbridge and Richard Murree at home near Warner; and by daughter Heather MacDonald-Sorochan and husband Glenn Sorochan, and their children: Christie in Vancouver, Cayley and partner Marc Leger of Montreal, Ryan in Vancouver and Jamie at home near Lethbridge; and by son Gordon MacDonald and wife Debbie, their son Kyle of Calgary, and daughter Lyndsay at home in Carseland; and by her son Charles MacDonald and partner Josee Veltman of Calgary. Also survived by step-daughter Margaret McCabe of St. Albert and her children, step-sons Dr. Kevin McCabe and children in Calgary, and Thomas McCabe of Calgary.
Pauline is also survived by her sister, Ena Van Oosten of Victoria, sister Sophie Budzey and her husband Omalin of Mount Hope, Ontario, and one brother Henry Burdeyney of BC and many other relatives.
Pauline was born in Prairie River, SK, and left school at a young age to work in Winnipeg, where she met and married RCMP Const. Neil MacDonald. They raised their four children in the Western provinces until his death in 1976.
Pauline was President of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Royal Canadian Legion in Nanton in the 1970's. Since living at the Gardenview lodge, she spent many happy hours at various activities, especially craft activities, and was proud of her pool-playing abilities.
Pauline was very caring mother and grandmother and had a very giving heart.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Elizabeth Brown officiating.
