MR. BEREND (BEN) NYHOF formerly of Picture Butte, passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on Thursday, April 8, 2010.

Ben is survived by his 3 daughters, Bonnie Richardson of Picture Butte and her children Josh, Luke and Tess; Donna (Brian) Hamilton of Lethbridge and their children Brock and April, Mark and Robyn, Jana, Ben and 2 great-grandchildren Kade and Charolette; Diane (Ted) Yagos of Cochrane and their children Tamara, Matthew and Bryce; and by his companion Margaret Wieler and her family.

He was predeceased by his wife Hendrika (Ricky) Nyhof.

Ben was born on March 1, 1926 in Lethbridge and resided in the Monarch/Nobleford and Picture Butte areas. He farmed, worked for the County of Lethbridge as Agriculture Fieldman and for the Alberta Government as a reclamation officer.

Ben loved to sing, hunt and fish, and was involved in numerous community organizations throughout his life.

He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, on Monday, April 12, 2010 at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Peter Coyne officiating.
