Nobuo "Nobby" Yamashita

Mr. Nobuo “Nobby” Yamashita of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Rose Yamashita, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the age of 93 years.

Nobby was born in Celtic Canyon B.C. January 8, 1930. He met the love of his life, Rose, in Vauxhall and they were married on April 21, 1956. They loved spending time together and were seldom seen apart- especially in the later years they could be found walking.

While farming his passions were hunting, fishing, camping, and curling bonspiels. He always had a smile on his face and love to strike up a conversation with anyone he would meet. Generous, courteous and funny are words that would be used to describe him.

Nobby farmed until was 64 when he retired. Farming was his passion, and in retirement enjoyed growing tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, sweet peas, and a variety of vegetables. He also enjoyed walleye fishing trips with Maxine and Ken and friends. He kept up with technology and loved watching old westerns on You Tube.

Besides his beloved wife Rose (Hoshiko), Nobby is survived by his son Greg.

He was predeceased by brothers Yasuo and Shigero, as well as his sisters Naomi and Hideko.

 He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

 A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Friday, March 3, 2023, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610, 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
