MR. NOBORU (NOBBY) ABE, beloved husband of the late Delima Abe passed away peacefully at home with family on August 28, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 87 years.

He is survived by his 3 daughters and 1 son; Linda (Keith) Ransome, Elaine Davie (Abe), Barbara Abe and Duane Abe; 3 grandchildren that he adored Matt & Kynan Ransome and Dylan Davie; 3 sisters, Ms. Shizue Hatanaka, Mrs. Mitiz (Sho) Yasui and Mrs. Kim (Hid) Hamaura as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Nobby was predeceased by his beloved wife Delima Abe, his parents Mr. Suekichi Abe & Mrs. Katsuyo Abe as well as his sister Takuko Abe.

Nobby was born in Vancouver, B.C. In 1942 Nobby and his family were evacuated to Picture Butte, Alberta. In 1951 the Abe family purchased a farm in Diamond City, AB and when his mother and sister moved away Nobby took over the family farm. Then married Delima in 1958 and fathered 3 daughters and 1 son. He continued to farm until 2002, while working at LilyDale Poultry for 35 years. After which he retired to his home in West Lethbridge. Nobby was a self-made man with a diligent and persevering spirit. Nobby was a great provider, a man of Christian faith, a green thumb, and greatest of all a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family.

Family and friends may gather to pay their respects on Friday September 3, 2010 between 6:00PM and 8:00PM at MARTIN BROS. FUNERAL CHAPELS, 610-4th Street South, Lethbridge, AB.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday September 4, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB with Pastor Sidney Speakman and Pastor Shawn Scotney, officiating.

Interment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery.

The Abe family respectfully requests No Koden be offered.
